🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Changes Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change. Social Media Response Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. They have suggested members to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
